Conservation work is all done by volunteers on a work for wellbeing basis. Work includes hazel coppicing, thinning beeches and sycamores, clearing holly to make glades, coppicing an area of recent planting, and fencing. Recent work has been planting young tree seedlings of ancient woodland species not currently in the wood to enhance the resilience of the wood to tree diseases and climate stress.
